Project overview

Shopzy is a restaurant point-of-sale system with built-in ERP modules. Auto Act built the Laravel application and designed its MySQL database. Ordering, inventory, accounting, HR, product management and reporting sit in one system.

A restaurant's software needs go beyond taking an order. Staff need to manage ingredients and products, while the business needs accounts, employee administration and reports. Shopzy needed a POS application with these back-office functions in the same system.

Laravel provides the application foundation, and we designed the MySQL database around the system's restaurant and ERP requirements. Bootstrap keeps controls and layouts consistent. AJAX and jQuery update the interface without full page reloads, so staff can keep working in context.

01. Ordering with visible status
The order workspace brings order records, order types and statuses into one view. Dine-in, pickup, delivery and drive-through orders show completed, void and returned states.
02. From ingredients to the menu
Inventory screens organise items with their storage and ingredient units, alongside purchase requests, purchase orders, goods receipts and stock transfers. Product management covers the menu catalogue, categories, modifiers and modifier options.
03. Accounting and reporting
The accounting workspace includes a chart of accounts and journal entries. Balance sheets, trial balances and profit and loss statements come with date and location filters and export controls.
04. One system for the business
HR forms part of Shopzy's ERP scope, alongside ordering, inventory, accounting, product management and reporting. All of it runs on one Laravel application and a custom MySQL database.
